On Thursday, July 5, the deed to the Hotel North Woods at 2520 Main St. officially transferred from the Smith family of Northwoods Inn LLC to Lake Placid Hotel Partners LLC.

The Hotel North Woods – previously known as the Northwoods Inn and before that the Hotel Marcy – has 92 suites and two restaurants: Delta Blue and the Cabin Grill. It is a member of the Ascend Hotel Collection, a group of preferred historic independent hotels and resorts.

Garrick Smith, general manager a member of the family who owned the hotel previously, was still in his position as of Friday, July 6. He had not returned multiple phone messages by press time.

According to the New York Department of State’s online database of corporations, the new owning company initially filed in New York on March 27, and its mailing address is located in Memphis, Tennessee. No owner of the company is named. Lake Placid Hotel Partners LLC doesn’t have any other properties logged in the database on the Essex County clerk’s website.
