North Country School to host free pancake event May 11

LAKE PLACID — North Country School & Camp Treetops invites local residents and neighbors to the annual “Flapjacks on the Farm” community pancake breakfast, from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11.

A large percentage of the morning’s meal will be sourced directly from the school and camp’s farm and sugarbush, as well as other local and regional farms. In addition to the breakfast, attendees can enjoy tours of the campus barn and gardens, hay rides, and a mini-farmers’ market featuring local farms, area nonprofits, and the school and camp store and annual spring plant sale.

The event highlights the school’s commitment to sustainable living, experiential education, and community engagement. With a student body from around the world, “Flapjacks on the Farm” provides a unique opportunity for North Country School students to engage with surrounding Adirondack communities.

The event is free and open to the public. While registration is recommended, it is not required. To register, visit https://bit.ly/NCSCTTPancakeBfast24.

“Our annual pancake breakfast allows us to open our doors and share what makes our community so special,” said Todd Ormiston, executive director of North Country School & Camp Treetops. “We look forward to this event every year as a chance to connect with our local friends and neighbors over a delicious, locally sourced breakfast served by our students and prepared by our talented staff.

“We hope families will join us for this fun spring tradition to kick off Mother’s Day weekend. It’s a great way to explore our beautiful campus, interact with our students and staff, meet some of our resident farm animals, and learn more about who we are here at North Country School & Camp Treetops.”

Starting at $1.44/week.
