LPVFD hosting clambake Friday and firematic races Saturday

LAKE PLACID – The Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department on Old Military Road will be hosting it annual Clam Bake on Friday, July 13 starting at 5 p.m. and the Firematic Races on Saturday, July 14 starting at noon, at the LPVFD track and pavilion. Tickets for the Clam Bake are $10, which includes two dozen steamers. Burgers, hot dogs and fries will be for sale as well. All proceeds to benefit the LPVFD.

Friday night will include a horseshoe tournament, music and a bonfire. Alcohol will not be sold at either event; however; it is BYOB. Tickets for the Clam Bake can be purchased upon arrival.

The Firematic Races will be hosted by the LPVFD Panthers Drill Team. The races last around four hours, and have eight different events, including ladder and hose races. It will conclude with the Bucket Brigade race. Many teams from around northern New York will be competing. Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the track pavilion.
