Bombers spikers open season with a win

LAKE PLACID — In a rematch of last season’s Section VII, Class D championship, the Lake Placid volleyball team took down the Northern Adirondack Bobcats 3-1 on the road Thursday, Sept. 4. The Blue Bombers won the season opener by scores of 25-16, 25-22, 16-25 and 25-21.

Seniors Brooke Meyer and sophomore Ellie Shipman had standout performances in the win. Meyer recorded nine kills, seven digs and five aces, while Shipman had 10 assists, eight digs, four aces and three kills.
