Circus at ice arena

For the first time in the history of the Olympic arena, Lake Placid will present a real circus under its huge roof Friday and Saturday of this week.

A parade of circus features booked through the largest circus agency in the world, the George A. Hamid Co., will follow one another in rapid and startling succession for over two hours.

Included in the show will be the Avery Trio, a comedy acrobatic novelty. The Fantinos, a famous aerial act, late of the Hagenback Wallace Circus; Palenburg’s wonder bears, the greatest trained bear act in all circus history, formerly of the Cole Bros. Circus; the Arizona Kids, a troupe of young cowboys from the plains of the West in feats of horsemanship and lassoing; the great DeCardo troupe, lately a center ring attraction with the Ringling Bros. show and the foremost teeterboard act in America; Hally Mack and Pete in “Violating Traffic,” a clown novelty; Tudor Sisters and Avery, a center ring contortion presentation from the Ringling show; Tex Switzer and Company with their high school horses in a daring equestrian exhibition; the Olvera Bros., a thrilling act on a 60-foot pole; Mlle. Palima, Ringling Bros., aerial star featuring 100 consecutive one-arm turnovers; the Roselli troupe, sensational acrobatic barrel jumping artists; Bernard’s elephants, including the one and only Toby, who walks the tight rope; Poodles and Noodles, the clown sensations of the Ringling show; and the Flying Aces, the most daring of all aerial casting or flying return acts.

Twenty clowns will provide laughter in plenty throughout this array of circus stars. Performances will be at 3 and 8:30 p.m.
