John and Jean Snow of Jay celebrated their 50th anniversary on Feb. 20. They began their day by attending the fundraiser for Jeff Brown at the American Legion in AuSable Forks and were pleasantly surprised to have their daughter and her fiance join them. Later they left and were surprised to learn a dinner party had been planned for them at the Wilderness Inn. Upon arriving they found a beautiful setting with flowers, bride and groom teddy bears and a photo of their wedding day adorning the table. Their son John had planned this surprise. A beautiful cake much like their original wedding cake was made by their waitress, Karen Bombard. Although their son Rich was unable to attend, he called to wish them well and picked up the tab for all of them. The Snows were treated like crowned royalty by the staff at the Wilderness. Their grandchildren gave them a beautiful white throw, stating, “Happy 50th.  Thanks for caring and sharing gram and pop.” This was indeed a very special occasion for John and Jean, one they will treasure for many years to come. Congratulations John and Jean, and best wishes for many more years of happiness together.

I am happy to share news from Agnes Bombard in regard to her son Jimmy, who I am happy to report returned home on Feb. 26. Although Jim is now blind and unable to speak they are in the process of obtaining a talking valve for him. He has lost 59 pounds, but there is hope, despite having a feeding tube, that he will be able to gain some of his weight back. They are hopeful that one day he will be able to swallow and speak. During this illness he lost his kidney transplant and unfortunately is on dialysis three days a week. Jimmy is only 40 years old.

Agnes thanks everyone for thier prayers and cards. He was very happy to receive the cards. Please continue to send cards to: Jim Bombard, 305 Silver Lake Road, AuSable Forks NY 12912. We all send our special thoughts and prayers to you Jim.
