Born on Dec. 25, 1924, in Brooklyn, New York, she was always our Christmas “Carol.” She married Howard Pfeifer in 1943 and they were together 60 years until Howard’s passing in 2003. They had two children, Cheryl Pfeifer of Lake Placid and Bruce Pfeifer of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She leaves two beloved grandchildren, Alex of Texas and Valerie of Oklahoma. She is survived by her brother, Ron Greenwood of California, and her dear sister-in-law, Adele Greenwood Brooklyn.

She was predeceased by her parents, Lester and Kathryn Greenwood; and two brothers, Clifford and George Greenwood.

The family would like to express their deepest thanks to the wonderful staff of Elderwood for the care she received over the past three years.

There are no calling hours. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
