Dana Fast to discuss life experiences
LAKE PLACID – Author Dana Fast will share her life experiences and sign copies of her newly released memoir, “My 9 Lives” at the Left Bank Cafe, 36 Broadway in Saranac Lake, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 6 “My 9 Lives” is the story of Dana Fast, who is well known in the community as a Master Gardener volunteer.
But many don’t know that Dana was born as Lilka Miron into a middle-class, urban, secular Jewish family in Warsaw, Poland. She was eight when the Germans entered Poland and spent 1940-42 in the Warsaw Ghetto. After a daring escape, when she and her bother were smuggled out, she spent the rest of the war in a series of hiding places under different assumed identities.
