Lake Placid spikers earn home victory over NAC

LAKE PLACID — The Lake Placid volleyball team defeated the Northern Adirondack Bobcats 3-2 at home Tuesday, Sept. 10 by scores of 18-25, 25-18, 19-25, 25-17 and 15-13.

Senior Norah Galvin paced the Blue Bombers with 18 assists, 12 points, 12 digs, six kills four aces and one block. Fellow senior Kelsey McKillip was the team’s leading point-earner with 15. McKillip also had seven digs, five aces and two kills.

Junior Brooke Meyer was solid in front of the net, recording a team-high 12 kills. Ireland Cassidy, a freshman, had 13 points, five aces, five digs, four kills and one block.

Lake Placid, which now sits at 1-0, was slated to take on the Beekmantown Eagles on Sept. 11. Following that match, the team will host the Peru Nighthawks at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19.
