USA women’s hockey festival returns

LAKE PLACID — The USA Hockey Women’s National Festival and the Girls National Under-18 Select Player Development Camp, will return to Lake Placid next week, starting on Aug. 4 to 11. The girls national under-18 select camp will run from Aug. 4 to 9 at the Northwood School in Lake Placid.

The camp, which will be held at the Olympic Center, will showcase all levels of the USA women’s hockey program as it narrows down the roster of players who will compete in future games and tournaments.

The festival will feature 75 professional or at the collegiate level women’s hockey players, including Hilary Knight, Taylor Heise, Megan Keller, Alex Carpenter and Kendall Coyne Schofield.

The girls national under-18 camp will feature 76 players from across the country who have been selected by USA Hockey officials.

Following these two events, USA Hockey will select rosters for the under-18 select and collegiate select teams, who will each face Canada in a three-game series at the Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre in St. Catharines, Ontario, from Aug. 14-17.
