Lake Placid’s Colin Francis was the fastest varsity boy, with a time of 15 minutes, 58 seconds. Saranac Lake claimed the next six spots to claim the team wins, led by Owen Keal in second place in 16:32 and Jake Kollmer in third at 17:00. The Red Storm boys scored nine points, while Lake Placid had 26 and Keene had 39. The Beavers’ Henry Crowl led his team with an eighth-place finish in 18:46.

On the girls side, Saranac Lake’s Tyler Burth continued her strong season, once again claiming the individual win in a time of 18:19. Lake Placid’s Holly Erenstone followed behind in second, with a time of 19:17.

The Red Storm’s Kaylee Holmes grabbed her first podium spot in a varsity race, finishing just behind Erenstone with a time of 16:33. The Saranac Lake girls secured the team win with a score of eight points. Lake Placid had 15, and Keene had 29. Pia Morrelli was the Beavers’ top skier placing sixth in 21:05.

“Obviously the weather this winter has been a serious challenge,” Red Storm head coach Keith Kogut said. “Somehow tonight was our 8th race, despite the limited snowpack and warm temps. We’re thankful that Mike Battisti and the ADK Welcome Center were able to host us tonight — we wouldn’t have been able to race without their support and hard work.”
