Abbey Light paced the Blue Bombers with 15 points. Kyra Jordon added eight, Danna Perez had six and Margaret Thatcher had three.

Willsboro jumped out to an 18-11 at halftime, but Lake Placid had a strong second half, outscoring Willsboro 21-12.

The Blue Bombers improved to 3-10 overall with the win. The team will travel to Plattsburgh on Jan. 25 to take on the Seton Catholic Knights.

Chateaugay 45, Lake Placid 36

After recording its first win of the season on Jan. 18, the Lake Placid boys basketball team suffered a 45-36 loss to the Chateaugay Bulldogs on Saturday, Jan. 20 at the North Country Community College gymnasium in Saranac Lake.

Chateaugay came out with a strong full-court man-to-man defense that kept the Blue Bombers on their heels for the first 12 minutes of the game.

Lake Placid made a few adjustments in the second quarter, then again at halftime that helped them to a 12-0 run at the beginning of the third bringing them to within four. The rest of the game was a back-and-forth. Chateaugay sealed the win at the free throw line at the end of the game.

Seb Cecunjanin paced the Blue Bombers with 18 points and Talon Jordon had 10. Brendan Murphy chipped in with three points, while Owen Hayes and Jarrett Mihill had two each. Colton Kondrat had one point.
