Blue Bomber girls fall to Wells in varsity basketball

LAKE PLACID — The Lake Placid girls basketball team was defeated 46-24 by Wells on their home court Friday, Dec. 15.

Abbey Light led the Blue Bombers with 11 points, while Kyra Jordon scored eight points, Alex Gill recorded three and Johnilyn Corrow had two.

Wells got off to a hot start, outscoring Lake Placid 8-1 in the first quarter before extending their lead to 21-9 at halftime. After intermission, Wells got off an 18-6 run; however, the Blue Bombers outscored Wells 9-7 in the fourth quarter.

Lake Placid dropped to 0-5 overall with the loss. The team’s Dec. 18 game against Willsboro was postponed.

Bolton game

The Lake Placid girls basketball team suffered a 51-14 loss to the Bolton Eagles on Wednesday, Dec. 13.

Playing on their home court, the Blue Bombers got off to a rocky start, giving up a big deficit that became too difficult to come back from.

Lake Placid had a solid fourth quarter, scoring 10 points, but ultimately fell.

The Eagles had three players in triple digits. Jadynn Egloff paced the team with 16 points, while Maille Kelley added 12 and Thea Kennedy had 11. Bolton’s Hannah Daken and Riley Huck scored five points each.

Abbey Light led the Blue Bombers with seven points. Kyra Jordon had six points and Danna Perez had one point.
