LAKE PLACID — Haylie Buysse hit a home run to help guide the Lake Placid softball team to a 13-4 victory over Johnsburg/Minerva at home on May 12.

Brooklyn Huffman struck out 10 batters while pitching a complete game for the Blue Bombers, who also picked up a 32-16 over the Chazy Eagles on Friday to improve to 5-4 on the season.

After giving up one run in the first inning, the Blue Bombers rattled off nine runs of their own in the bottom of the second to take a commanding lead.

Johnsburg/Minerva wasn’t able to score another run until the fifth inning when the team scored three runs. Lake Placid piled on five runs over the course of the final three innings to seal the game.

Dari Patterson and Chelsea Moore picked up three hits each for the Blue Bombers. Emma Adragna recorded two hits in the win. Lake Placid finished the game with 13 total hits.
