Reiley’s main ski discipline is slopestyle, in which athletes ski or snowboard down a course where with a variety of terrain park obstacles such as rails and jumps. Points are scored for amplitude, originality and quality of tricks.

He competed in the United States of America Snowboard and Freeski Association Futures Tour(s) this season. Despite some canceled competitions, the Futures Tour had three series this year, which included the top freeride athletes from around the U.S. yearning for a spot on the podium due to the limited calendar of events.

In the last series, at Mammoth, Reiley scored a 89.33 in the slopestyle competition, landing him in second place and, most importantly, guaranteeing him a spot for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Revolution (Rev) Tour next season.

The Rev Tour is a NorAm and FIS (International Ski Federation) level competition focused toward skiers and riders ages 13 to 19 and awards the top athletes invitations to compete in the U.S. Grand Prix, Junior World Championships and USASA Nationals, and participate in Project Gold camps.

Reiley is a junior in high school, the son of William and Brandee Reiley. He attended Saranac Lake schools until recently switching to Stratton Mountain School in Stratton, Vermont — well known for its competetive winter sports programs. He skis for the New York Ski Educational Foundation, based in Lake Placid. NYSEF said it looks forward to him training in Lake Placid this summer.
