LAKE PLACID — Lake Placid News Editor Andy Flynn interviewed Gordy Sheer, director of marketing and sponsorships at USA Luge, about the upcoming Running of the Balls fundraiser.

More than 1,000 lacrosse balls will be sent down the mile-long luge track at Mount Van Hoevenberg to raise money so the organization can recruit, train and support world-class luge athletes with the ultimate goal of winning medals for the U.S. at the Winter Olympics. The videotaped event can be seen on the USA Luge website, https://www.teamusa.org/USA-Luge, on Feb. 20. That last day to sponsor lacrosse balls is Feb. 16.
