Women’s jump coach steps down

Paolo Bernardi has resigned as coach of the U.S. women’s ski jumping team.

Bernardi announced the move Thursday on his Facebook page.

“I resign for personal reasons and it was a hard decision,” Bernardi wrote. “I keep loving and following this sport and I hope to find another team soon that can give me the motivation to start again.”

Women’s Ski Jumping USA hasn’t announced the move that comes months before the women’s sport makes its Olympics debut in Sochi.

The Italian coached the team since 2011. Under his guidance, American Sarah Hendrickson won the world championships last season.

Starting at $1.44/week.
