Thanks for supporting Lake Placid’s Ed Op Fund
To the editor:
This past June, the Lake Placid High School Music department brought a group of 44 students to New York City. It was a whirlwind of a day that our students will cherish and remember for the rest of their lives. The funds contributed by the Education Opportunity Fund allowed our students to participate in a Broadway workshop. Students worked alongside Broadway professionals in one of two different workshops. Half the group worked with a cast member from Aladdin the Musical and learned a song and dance routine to “Arabian Nights” from the show. The other half of the group learned stage combat and how to act out a fight scene without physically hurting their partners. It was something that both myself and our students will remember in years to come. Many thanks to the Educational Opportunity Fund for making this experience possible for our students!
