As we wrap up the 23rd running of Ironman Lake Placid, I would like to express my utmost appreciation to the community, volunteers, staff, athletes and visitors who continue to make this event both possible and special. Having been an athlete, spectator, volunteer and employee, as well as a resident, I know and understand the impact that Ironman has on the community, both positively and negatively. I will always do my best to help solve problems and create a meaningful event for all involved.

Thank you, North Country, for your support, feedback and enthusiasm. Even with the drawbacks, the energy, dedication and spirit of the area shine brightly.
