Having read your review of our (July 10) concert (in the July 15 of the Lake Placid News), I’m rather disappointed that you apparently neither attended the concert nor ever learned in your military years what it means to adapt and overcome, or about chain of command. As an Army veteran myself, I can speak on these things and felt our chain of command made appropriate decisions with less than 24 hours before our concert, contrary to your fictional timeline, and we as an orchestra adapted and overcame like the professionals we are. Next time you attend one of our concerts, I invite you to pay attention to the music and not make closed-minded assumptions about our music director’s brilliant programming. Also, please don’t create false narratives or fictitious conversations that never happened. It doesn’t serve your community. Lake Placid deserves better.
