Thanks for Summer Reading Program support

To the editor:

The Lake Placid Middle/High School and the English Department would like to thank members of the Lake Placid Educational Opportunity Fund and of the Town of North Elba LEAF Committee for their generous support of our Summer Reading Program and field trips for our students in grades 6-12. The funds from these two organizations provided our students with myriad positive experiences with our local businesses. At The Bookstore Plus, students were given the opportunity to choose a book of their very own to read for the summer. They also toured the Lake Placid Public Library where they learned about the services it offers and received a library card (if they did not already have one). At their final stop, they were able to enjoy delicious treats from Emma’s Creamery and Origin Coffee.

Thank you to the staff at the Lake Placid Public Library, The Bookstore Plus, Emma’s Creamery and Origin Coffee for being so welcoming to our students and providing them with wonderful and memorable experiences.
