Miles of smiles

The story about Make-A-Wish recipient Kailey Paul this week was a welcome pick-me-up when considering all the horrible news around the world — war, famine, climate change, mass shootings, etc.

On June 30, Make-A-Wish Northeast New York and the Lake Placid Horse Shows made this 14-year-old brain cancer patient’s wish come true. She spent the day being outfitted by riding jacket designer Charles Ancona, meeting world champion hunter rider John French and being mentored by Cathy Grady, one of the head trainers at Holly Hill Farm. Plus, she and her family stayed for free at the Mirror Lake Inn. What generosity!

That big, beautiful smile on Kailey’s face is just what we needed this week. Thank you!
