The Lake Placid Public Library is busy as summer reaches its peak season. Elizabeth (Baz) Perry, the new library director, and Joshua Allen, the new information technology librarian, are effectively managing the library’s daily operations and are enjoying meeting all the patrons and visitors. The other day, Josh was witness to a young couple getting engaged on the shore of Mirror Lake, located in the library’s gardens. What a special day.
Over the past few weeks, many children have participated in various library events. These included a Readers’ Theater performance, a meet-and-greet with author Veronica Salazar, a “Color Our World with Flowers” discussion and design session, and an exploration of how animals use camouflage to conceal themselves. Each program was followed by an activity that reinforced the knowledge gained. The library appreciates the individuals and organizations that provided these programs to the children at the library.
On Friday, July 11, Ms. Linda’s Storytime welcomed a special musical guest, RIVERJACK Z, who kept the children and adults dancing and singing along to some very entertaining songs.
