Jayson M. Osborne

Jayson M. “Jake” Osborne, 48, of Garden Way, Lake Placid, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026 at his home.

Jake was born in Plattsburgh on Jan. 13, 1977 the son of John and Donna (McMillian) Osborne, Jr. Jake was a proud 1996 graduate of Plattsburgh High School.

Jake’s passion and spirit came from the outdoors, particularly the mountain and snowboarding. Jake’s soul belonged on the mountain trails where he felt most alive, seeking the thrill of the ride and camaraderie of his friends and companions. Nothing made Jake happier than swapping stories of a ride on the mountain, fresh powder, and good friends. Jake truly lived the life he wanted, residing in Lake Placid, Utah and Alaska at different points in his adult life, combining his love of snowboarding with his evident work ethic and customer service at the various resorts and restaurants lucky to have him in their employ.

Jake truly was young at heart, as a devout Star Wars fan. Jake always displayed a twinkle in his eye when bragging about his nephew and niece, Jordan and Juliana. He also displayed love of animals over the course of his life, none so much more than his beloved Oakley.

Jake was, and should always be remembered as fun loving, empathetic, kind, and loyal.

Jake is survived by his father, John W. Osborne, Jr. of Plattsburgh; brother Scott Osborne of Plattsburgh; nephew Jordan Osborne and niece Juliana Osborne of Peru; brother John Osborn of McKinney, Texas and his wife Brenda; nephews John and his spouse Samantha, Michael and Nicolas Osborn; aunt and uncle Kathy (McMillan) and Tom Tripp of Dannemora; cousin Corey Keysor and Ingrid Rand of Wilmington; cousin Katie Tripp-Clancy, Dan Clancy and Colin Clancy of Dannemora; uncle and aunt Ron & Donna Osborne of Orland, California; his best friend Jason Strickland and his beloved German Shepard Oakley, along with many more family and friends.
