Bruce was born in Athol, Massachusetts, to Katherine P. and Percy “Bill” Colon on Aug. 17, 1940.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 10 at North Elba Cemetery, Old Military Road, Lake Placid. The Rev. Steve Reed will officiate. A reception will follow at 1 p.m.at the Craig Wood Golf Course, Cascade Road, Lake Placid.
