Born on April 25, 1943, in Lake Placid, he was the son of Clearance and Violet (Bruce) Hare. He graduated from Lake Placid High School, Class of 1963.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, May 5, followed by a prayer service at 6 p.m. at M. B. Clark, Funeral Home in Lake Placid. The Rev. Derek Hansen, pastor of the Adirondack Community Church, will officiate. The family asks that visitors dress comfortably and wear jeans, as that’s what Richard would want.
