The nature trail to the summit of Whiteface Mountain was closed when this photo was taken on Thursday, Oct. 10. It is accessed from the top of the Whiteface Veterans’ Memorial Highway, which was closed that day due to snow. The highway closed again on Monday, Oct. 14 due to even more snow; that was the last day it was supposed to be open for the season. It will open again to the public in May. (Provided photo — ORDA)
