Spay/neuter, rabies clinic for cats is July 12 in Saranac Lake
SARANAC LAKE — The Tri-Lakes Humane Society is partnering with FARVets again to offer a low-cost spay/neuter and rabies clinic for cats in the Tri-Lakes area on Friday, July 12.
The clinic will take place at the shelter — 255 George LaPan Memorial Highway, Saranac Lake. Rabies vaccines are only for those cats receiving spay/neuter. Preregistration is required, and space is limited.
Spaying, neutering and vaccinations are vital for cats’ health, but the expense can be a barrier for low-income owners.
This clinic aims to help cat owners keep their pets safe and prevent unwanted litters.
Spaying and neutering reduce overpopulation, decrease behaviors like spraying, marking and roaming, and it lowers the risk of certain kinds of cancer in the animals.
For more information and to preregister, contact the shelter at info@trilakeshumanesociety.org or 518-891-0017.
The clinic is available to low-income residents and caregivers of feral/stray cats in the Tri-Lakes Humane Society service area for $85 per cat.
