Eclipse viewing locations in the Olympic Region

LAKE PLACID — Witnessing the total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8 in the Olympic Region is simple.

As long as there are no clouds, all you have to do is step outside and look up. (Don’t forget to put on your eclipse glasses to protect your eyes.)

This is a shared experience for humanity in this neck of the woods, as the path of totality runs right through the Adirondack Park.

A total solar eclipse is a rare occurrence, especially in these parts, one that many people want to remember with fondness.

Some may prefer to spend the time alone, while others want to spend the time with friends and family — either at private parties, local businesses or special community events.
