Women in Business Conference set for March 7

SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is planning to bring women throughout the Adirondacks together for a new Women in Business Conference called “Inspire & Ignite.”

The conference will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 7 at the Paul Smith’s College Visitor Interpretive Center.

The conference will include a full day schedule with networking, learning and empowerment with interactive workshops and panel discussions led by successful women in business.

The event will include keynote speaker Devan Robinson from Watertown. Robinson is a life coach, author, mentor, motivational speaker and expert in leadership and communication. Her keynote speech will aim to inspire attendees to embrace their potential and embark on a transformative journey. Breakout sessions will include discussions about unconscious bias, breaking barriers in business, leading with empathy, and more featuring guest speakers from throughout the North Country region. The late afternoon provides options for guided activities and encourages movement, relaxation and connection.

“We are excited to be hosting this event; ‘Inspire & Ignite’ is an opportunity to build professional skills, connect with women throughout the Adirondacks, and build bridges over the challenges we face in business. I continue to meet and work with many inspiring women and this is our chance to bring them together and celebrate our strengths,” said Rachel Karp, executive director Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.

The conference will also be giving three Leadership and Impact Awards: The Mountain Mover, The Trailblazer and The Pathfinder. The Mountain Mover will recognize someone who brings her authentic self to the workplace. This person comes to the workplace with a wholeness, including the mental, physical and spiritual being creating a safe space for others to do the same. The Trailblazer honors an individual who shows the spirit of the Adirondacks; their work is reflective of the community and culture in which we live. When obstacles arise, they blaze their way through and help others at the same time. The Pathfinder award recognizes an individual who truly brings people together whether in business, in their workplace, or in the community. They provide support and connection making a positive impact on everyone. Nominations for the awards may be emailed to director@slareachamber.org or submitted online at www.slareachamber.org/inspireandignite.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available at www.slareachamber.org/inspireandignite or by calling 518-891-1990.
