TRI-LAKES NEWS UPDATE: Snomobiler falls through Oseetah Lake ice

SARANAC LAKE — As preparations continue for the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival, outdoor enthusiasts are dealing with thin ice conditions in the Tri-Lakes Region and a Lake Placid ski jumper made history this past weekend.

On Monday, Jan. 29, a snowmobiler was rescued from Oseetah Lake, prompting the Saranac Lake fire chief to remind residents of unsafe ice conditions. Read more HERE.

In the international sports world, Lake Placid native Tate Frantz made history at the FIS Ski Flying World Championships this past weekend in Kulm Bad Mitterndorf/Tauplitz, Austria, becoming the first American to finish in the top 20 at the event since 1994. Read more HERE.
