Wilmington’s Christmas Celebration, including Santa Parade, fireworks, set for Friday, Dec. 8

WILMINGTON — The town of Wilmington is hosting the 16th annual Christmas Celebration on Friday, Dec. 8, featuring the Santa Parade in the evening. Below is the tentative route:

4:30 p.m. — Route 86 lineup by AuSable Acres

4:40-4:50 p.m. — Route 86 to Springfield Road

4:50-5 p.m. — Springfield Road to Quaker Mountain

5-5:10 p.m. — Springfield Road to Indian Rock Road

5:10-5:20 p.m. — Indian Rock Road to lower end of Springfield Road

5:20-5:30 p.m. — Springfield Road to Fox Farm Road

5:30-5:40 p.m. — Fox Farm Road to Route 86

5:40-5:50 p.m. — Route 86 to Route 431

5:50-6 p.m. — Route 431 to Bonnieview Road

6-6:10 p.m. — Bonnieview Road to Lenny Preston Road/AuSable Run

6:10-6:20 p.m. — Back to Bonnieview Road — stop at bottom of Mountain View Lane

6:20-6:30 p.m. — Continue to John Bliss Road

6:30-6:40 p.m. — John Bliss Road to Haselton Road

6:40-6:50 p.m. — Haselton Road to Route 86, turning around at Adirondack Chocolates

6:50-7 p.m. — Adirondack Chocolates to Springfield Road, ending at Preston Festival Field

Route times are estimates.

Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 7:15 p.m., with suggested viewing at Preston Festival Field on Springfield Road.

Parents are asked to double check all goodies Santa Claus leaves in Christmas stockings for the children.
