WILMINGTON — The Whiteface Mountain Ski Center opened for the season on Friday, Nov. 24. On its website, the facility — operated by the state Olympic Regional Development Authority — reported: “Our first week invited a few inches of natural snow and a lot of our own snow making, which allowed us to open The Follies; all of that mixed with the brisk mountain air and we’ll be looking at another wintry fun day here at Whiteface Mountain.” On Wednesday, Nov. 29, the ski center anticipated opening three lifts and 10 trails on loose granular and packed powder conditions.
