LAKE PLACID — The 41st Annual Olympic Car Show (cars, trucks and motorcycles) to support the Lake Placid Ski Club children’s ski education programs will return on Sunday Sept. 3 to the Olympic Speedskating Oval.

The show is sponsored by High Peaks and Egglefield Ford, Mirror Lake Inn, Hoffman Eells Group CPAs and Wes Moody Landscaping and many others.

This event is a major fundraiser for the Ski Club’s children ski education programs. Past participants in the children ski education programs have not only learned to ski, but a few have made it all the way to Olympics and won gold, silver and bronze medals for the U.S.

All car show entries will be on display for the public viewing and enjoyment on the Oval from noon to 4 p.m. The parade of show cars down Main Street will return at 11:45 a.m., just prior to the show, for the first time since 2019.

Judging will begin at noon at the Oval, The cars, trucks and motorcycles will remain on display for spectators viewing until the awards ceremony at 4 p.m. Car show plaques will be given to 25 favorite cars selected by the Lake Placid Ski Club. Three cash awards will be given to the best of show vehicles as selected by the spectators. This gives everyone a chance to vote for their favorites and all participants have a higher probability of winning one or more awards.

This show is great fun for locals and tourist alike, with over 100 cars and trucks and motorcycles expected, there will be plenty of activities such as muffler raps, piston toss and a DJ to entertain the whole family. The Moonlighters band will be performing during the show as a donation to help raise money for the Ski Club. A hamburger and hot bog barbecue will be provided by the Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department as a fundraiser for safety equipment purchases.

Spectator admission is $5 per adult and $3 for children under 12. Please note, dogs, skateboards and bicycles will not be allowed anywhere on the Oval campus in order to protect the beautiful paint jobs on the show vehicles.
