WILMINGTON — The town of Wilmington’s Community Day Parade was held Saturday, Aug. 19 prior to the annual Get Together at the town beach. Many of the entries in the parade are seen here on state Route 86 at the bridge over the West Branch of the AuSable River. The three judges — Mary Grady, June Coarding and Gibb Brown — chose Danielle Lee and the Wilmington Youth Center Sport Program, Thomas Hinman/Unicorn Square, and Hope Smith-Holzer, Travis Holzer and Twisted Raven to be awarded plaques, according to Tina Terry Preston, a town councilor. Preston wrote on her Facebook page: “As someone stated yesterday, even if the parade was small it is all about the community coming together and the children seeing it, getting the candy and spending time with family and friends.”
