Main Street parking rules set for today

LAKE PLACID — The Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism on Wednesday, Jan. 11 clarified the parking rules on Main Street for the day as crews prepare for the Lake Placid 2023 FISU Winter World University Games and a Main Street traffic closure from Jan. 12 to 23.

“Lake Placid Parking is available today on Main Street and in the upper NBT and Municipal parking lot,” ROOST posted on its Facebook page. “Although the street is coned, cones may be moved for customers to park but should be moved back to help facilitate the closure tomorrow. Loading zones are available for deliveries.”

The main municipal lot will close Wednesday evening in preparation for Thursday, when official road closures begin at 10 a.m. and end at 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23.

During this time, Main Street will be open to traffic from 2 to 10 a.m. daily, but only for people who have a Lake Placid Parking Pass issued by the organizing committee for the games, Lake Placid 2023.
