Ice-out winners announced for Mirror Lake, Lake Placid lake

LAKE PLACID — The ice officially went out of Mirror Lake at 11:35 a.m. Friday, April 9, according to Judy Shea, of the Lake Placid Volunteer Ambulance Service, who organizes the annual Ice Out Benefit. Ice meisters were Jack Irvin and Andy Orringer. Winners were: first, Lee Lamparski, 24 minutes off; second, tie, Betty Little and Lisa Weibrecht, 25 minutes off; fourth, Carolyn Roy, 1 hour and 5 minutes off; fifth, Janet Bliss, 1 hour and 14 minutes off. The ice officially went out of Lake Placid lake at 5:31 p.m. Sunday, April 11. Ice Meisters were Jim Forsyth and Marty and Mary Shubert. Winners were: first, tie, Fred Ryman and Lisa Weibrecht, 2 hours and 31 minutes off; third, Sandy Bissell, 3 hours and 5 minutes off; fourth, Mike Hurley, 4 hours and 25 minutes off; and fifth, Sean Donovan, 5 hours off.
