APA plans vote on rail trail during online meeting

RAY BROOK — The long-running rail-trail issue was up for a vote Thursday, May 14 as the state Adirondack Park Agency Board of Commissioners held its monthly meeting on the WebEx videoconferencing platform.

At 1 p.m. the agency was to convene for Executive Director Terry Martino’s monthly report.

At 1:15 p.m. the Regulatory Programs Committee was to consider approval for a request from the town of Minerva in Essex County to treat Minerva Lake with a herbicide for the management of Eurasian watermilfoil. A maximum of 8.7 gallons of ProcellCOR EC would be applied over 41 acres of Minerva Lake between late May and mid June of this year.

At 2 p.m., the State Land Committee was to come to order to determine if the proposed final Remsen-Lake Placid Travel Corridor Unit Management Plan conforms to the Adirondack Park State Land Master Plan.

At 2:45 p.m., the full agency was to convene to take any necessary actions and hear comments.
