SARANAC LAKE – Tops Markets announced Thursday that it will close 10 stores, including the one on Lake Flower Avenue, in its efforts to get out of bankruptcy through financial restructuring.

The stores will close by the end of November. Tops CEO Frank Curci said they were underperforming.

Tops has two supermarkets in Saranac Lake. While the owner of the Church Street Tops prepares for a $500,000 renovation as part of the $10 million state Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant, the Lake Flower Avenue location will close alongside nine of the supermarket chain’s 169 locations.
