Keene Arts exhibit benefits Champlain Area Trails

KEENE — Champlain Area Trails will benefit from an art exhibit at Keene Arts throughout July.

Four Adirondack artists — Kevin Raines, Rob Powell, Dan Keegan and Steve Van Nort — have teamed up with the Keene Arts owners Mal and Zizi MacDougall to create a benefit exhibition to support CATS and enable more people of all ages to experience the beauty of the Adirondacks.

The “Champlain Pathways” exhibition will feature original works of art including paintings, photographs and drawings inspired by the trails, waterways, mountains and vibrant natural landscapes of the Adirondack Park’s Champlain Valley. A portion of all art sales will be donated directly to CATS to support its work of protecting land and building recreational trails.

Founded in 2009, CATS’ mission is to make trails, protect land, connect people with nature and promote economic vitality in New York’s Champlain Valley.

The public is invited to attend the opening reception on Friday, June 30, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Keene Arts, 10881 state Route 9N in Keene, to view the artwork, meet the artists, enjoy refreshments, and learn more about CATS’ mission.

The art show will continue to run until July 23, on Thursdays through Sundays 1 to 6 p.m.

Starting at $1.44/week.
