The 7th annual Miracle on Ice Fantasy Camp took place at the Olympic Center in Lake Placid from Sunday, April 29 to Thursday, May 4.

The camp included an evaluation, a team draft, a round-robin tournament and an awards ceremony.

The Miracle on Ice Fantasy Camp had 43 participants this year, including 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team player Rob McClanahan’s daughter, Sara, who was drafted to her father’s team.

Thirteen members — players and staff — of the 1980 team took part in the camp and around half of the coaches took the ice this year.

Mark Johnson, the leading scorer for the 1980 Miracle on Ice team and the head coach of the University of Wisconsin-Madison women’s hockey team — which won its seventh NCAA hockey title this past season – was also one of the coaches.

Along with Johnson and McClanahan, the camp coaches included: Steve Janaszak, Mike Ramsey, Neal Broten, Mark Wells, Mike Eruzione, Dave Christian, Buzz Schneider, Phil Verchota and John Harrington. Team USA’s 1980 assistant coach Craig Patrick and trainer Gary Smith were also coaches at the camp.
