Team USA takes on North American Cup
PARK CITY, Utah — Team USA had a pretty solid showing at the North American Cup last week.
In men’s skeleton, Bradley Nicol had Team USA’s top finish on Nov. 22, placing eighth with a time of one minute, 40.54 seconds. Darryl Payne had the team’s second-best result by taking 13th place in 1:44.02.
The previous day, Nicholas Tucker took 11th place in 1:41.57 and Andrew Whittier-Neises was 15th in 1:44.54.
In two-woman bobsled on Nov. 23, Team USA’s Lauren Brzozowski and Sydney Milani took first place with a time of 1:43.72. Sylvia Hoffman and Amoni Ashby took third in 1:44.21. Kaysha Love and Rylie Matthews were fourth in 1:44.35, while Maddy Cohen and Laura Billings placed fifth in 1:46.46.
In four-man bobsled, Geoffrey Gadbois, Quentin Willey, Freddie Harris and Darius Joseph teamed up for a fourth-place finish in 1:38.31 time. While the team of Zach Snyder, Timothy Monroe, Chase Blueberg and Charles Mangold didn’t race on Nov. 23, the team did compete the day before and took sixth place with a time of 1:42.47.
Heading over to Winterberg, Germany for the Intercontinental Cup on Nov. 27, Mystique Ro earned a sixth-place finish in women’s skeleton with a time of 1:56.98, while Michelle Toukan was 12th in 1:59.13. On the men’s side, Dan Barefoot took ninth place in 1:53.76 and Hunter Williams was 18th in 1:55.74.
Looking ahead, the competition will continue in Altenberg, Germany, and Bludenz, Austria with the Europe Cup, while the NAC will continue in Lake Placid from Dec. 1 to Dec. 4.
