All three skaters are looking forward to the upcoming competitive season.

“We did well. It went well for our first year skating together, and my first year skating senior level,” Bramante said. “I was very happy with how we did.”

Miner characterizes last season as filled with “ups and downs.”

“I was happy with the NHK Championships and the National Championships, but at the end of the season I pretty burned out and kind of didn’t really skate how I wanted to at Four Continents or Worlds,” he said. “(I have) a nice chance to recover and get back on track.”

The skaters each have well-defined goals for the season. For Cannuscio and Bramante, one goal involves the Lake Placid Ice Dance Championships, which will take place from July 31 to Aug. 3.

“At Lake Placid, we want to do as well as we can. Hopefully, we’ll get the technical points that we hope to achieve,” Cannuscio said. She added that another goal is to “get put into the international selection pool, and possibly get a Senior B assignment.”

Miner is focusing on his training methods.

“I want to train as hard as I can and as smart as I can so that I can get on the ice at nationals and know I’m prepared and that I’ve done everything that I can do to make myself feel ready,” he said. “Then go out there and enjoy it at home in Boston.”

All three skaters are training in hotbeds of skating. Miner trains at the well-known Skating Club of Boston under the direction of Peter Johanson and Mark Mitchell, while Cannuscio and Bramante practice at the prestigious University of Delaware, and are coached by Sasha Kirsanov, Christie Moxley and Karen Luddington.

Their skating journeys have led to Lake Placid many times.

“I’ve been here about 12-15 times, and like the quaintness of the town,” Cannuscio said. “I enjoy visiting Main Street and walking around the lake, no matter what time of year.”

“I haven’t been here in the winter, and I’d love to see what the area is like,” Bramante said. “I have a feeling that it’s completely different from season to season.”

Miner, who trained frequently in Lake Placid during the summer as a young competitive skater, enjoys Lake Placid because of the camaraderie.

“I enjoy seeing all the people I know when I come to Lake Placid,” Miner said.

The skaters are looking excited for the Olympics in Sochi, Russia in February 2014.

“I’m looking forward to the curling competition; I love watching it,” Cannuscio said. “I also like watching the ski jumping and aerials events.”

Miner enjoys watching just about any sport.

“I just like the competition,” he said “Whenever the Olympics are on, summer or winter, I usually don’t leave my couch for about two weeks, just watching every event. I’ll watch anything.”
