Donations of baskets, services and gift certificates sought for benefit walk

LAKE PLACID - Donations of baskets, merchandise, services, and gift certificates are being sought for the annual basket raffle to be held at the North Country Out of the Darkness Walk on Oct. 1 in Lake Placid.

All of the proceeds go to benefit the North Country Out of the Darkness Walk, which funds suicide prevention education, survivor of suicide loss support, public policy advocacy and research.

In-kind donations such as water, juice, coffee, fruit, granola bars, advertising, etc., are also being accepted.

Donations can be dropped off at either office of the Mental Health Association in Essex County (6096 state Route 9N in Westport or 20 Amherst Street in Ticonderoga) between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday and Friday.
