LAKE PLACID - The Lake Placid Hall of Fame Committee has selected three people for induction into the Lake Placid Hall of Fame.
Butch Martin, Robert Murch, and Peter Roland Sr. were selected as the 2014 nominees. They will be inducted into the Hall of Fame at the 31st annual Induction Banquet on Oct. 18 at the Conference Center at Lake Placid. The induction is scheduled to begin with a cash bar at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m.
According to the selection criteria, nominees have "made significant sports, cultural or civic contributions to the Olympic Region, or their endeavors must have enhanced the historical heritage of the area."
The Lake Placid Hall of Fame began in 1983 and has inducted more than 100 individuals. Plaques commemorating each member are on display in the Conference Center. The committee accepts nominations until June 1 of each year.
The 2014 Lake Placid Hall of Fame Committee includes Ron Butler, Sue Cameron, Ben Cross, Alison Haas, Jack Irvin, Jack LaDuke, Carol Nevulis, Howard Riley and Shirley Seney.
Tickets for the induction cost $32 and are now available at the Olympic Center box office through Oct. 14.
