ELIZABETHTOWN - An Elizabethtown man was arrested Aug. 28 on multiple drug and weapons-related charges.
Ronnie Cunningham, 54, was arrested on a warrant issued by Essex County Court subsequent to an investigation by state police and the Essex County Sheriff's Office. He was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police said in a news release that Cunningham allegedly possessed and sold heroin.
As a result of a separate investigation, Cunningham was also charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, private sale or disposal of a firearm and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
At the time of these arrests, police said Cunningham was already behind bars in the Essex County Jail in Lewis. He was processed on the new charges and released back to the custody of the county sheriff's department.
Cunningham was scheduled to appear in county court Aug. 1 to answer the charges.
