Program cuts promised

To the editor:

A recently released budget by the Republican Study Committee takes aim at several crucial programs that millions rely on. It appears that if Republicans are successful in winning a majority in congress, we should all brace for dramatic cuts. They are pushing an agenda of partially privatizing social security and Medicare. Can you imagine if an aggressive manager of the newly privatized programs invested in Bitcoin when it was at $60,000-plus and now is trading below $20,000 wow “what great returns?” They are also taking aim at food stamps, head start, Medicaid, affordable care act and children’s health program. That sure sounds like a group that’s pro-life, huh. The smoke and mirrors in this document are slapping us in the face, they purport to be laser focused on deficit spending ironically after passing a budget busting tax break for the ultra-rich. They followed the former president’s business acumen to spend until you can’t then file bankruptcy to reset the counter back to zero. All the while espousing your business genius by telling everyone how good it is for us.

I know many of you will think I am just some radical far left communistic democrat, but the fact is anyone that makes a very limited effort can download the budget in its entirety. It is a public document and therefore available to all that care. Not fake news. Our own representative Elise Stefanik is a member of the Republican Study Committee along with at least 150 of her fellow house members. Therefore, her attempts to manage her messaging to be fighting for senior citizens, the unborn, children and the poor is bunk. Who’s the radical now?
