LPCA says thanks for Joy to Children

To the editor:

On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff of the Lake Placid Center for the Arts, I would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Ed and Lisa Weibrecht, the staff of the Mirror Lake Inn & Spa, local businesses and everyone who donated or was in attendance to help make the 33rd annual Joy to the Children a success. The evening raised approximately $110,000, the net proceeds of which help support year-round children’s programming at the LPCA.

The evening would not be possible without the generous contribution of Ed & Lisa Weibrecht and the entire staff of the Mirror Lake Inn, the perfect backdrop for a magical and snowy holiday night for approximately 500 people.

We also thank the generous businesses and individuals who sponsored the event, those who donated items for the silent auction, the many volunteers who helped make, gather, and display auction items, and all the people who bought tickets and auction items.

The LPCA offers year-round arts education programs for children from around the region. These programs include the free Young & Fun Summer Performances, the Weibrecht AfterSchool Workshops, in-school residencies, the Lake Placid School of Dance and the School Day Matinee Series for school kids and homeschoolers throughout the region. In total, the LPCA’s Arts Education programs reach more than 5,000 young people each year.

Thank you Weibrecht family for your leadership in helping to establish and maintain this unique and important resource for the families in our region. You bring joy to our lives.

Sincerely,

MaryLou Brown, president
