We will do what we can to help you with the 2024 voting process in preparation for Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 5, and the Essex County Board of Elections in Elizabethtown is also here to help.

In our next issue, we’ll have sample ballots from the towns of Jay, Keene, North Elba and Wilmington. Plus, we’ll have stories on the local contested races in the Olympic Region, including the 21st Congressional District, Essex County judge and North Elba town justice.

Meanwhile, we encourage you to read the accompanying letter to the editor — HERE — from Mary McGowan and Jack Moulton, Essex County Board of Elections commissioners, detailing the voting process and how you can learn more to get ready for Nov. 5 or early voting, which begins on Saturday, Oct. 26.

Coincidentally, 5 p.m. Oct. 26 is the deadline to register to vote for the 2024 election.

The deadline to submit candidate endorsement letters to the editor for the Lake Placid News is 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28. There is a 500-word limit. Send letters to news@lakeplacidnews.com.

Starting at $1.44/week.
