Rotary Club needs stuffed toys

When the Rotary Club of Lake Placid took over the annual Teddy Bear Picnic last year – continuing a tradition that began with the now-defunct Lake Placid Kiwanis Club in the early 1990s – it once again did a great service to this community.

And the Rotarians could certainly use your help right about now. They need your donations.

The club is collecting gently loved and freshly washed stuffed toys, along with other small toy items to be used in the Teddy Bear General Store at the Teddy Bear Picnic. The event, which is free to all children, is set for Saturday, Sept. 21 at Teddy Bear Park on Hillcrest Avenue.

New and gently used items may be dropped off at the Adirondack Bank near Hannaford supermarket on Hadjis Way or at NBT Bank in the Outpost on Saranac Avenue, Lake Placid. Items will be accepted until the day of the event. Bins at each location are clearly marked.

Please, do it for the kids.

Starting at $1.44/week.
